No-Bloat Beach Snacks!

Snacking over Summer is one of our favourite pastimes – however it’s no fun when you’ve downed an entire bag of grainwaves only to get a call from your bestie begging to go to the beach! Therefore, we’ve compiled a list of the best foolproof summer snacks that won’t leave you bloated at the beach.

Apples & Peanut Butter: A fruit-protein balanced snack is super filling without weighing you down. Foods with sodium are known to cause bloating, so go for all-natural peanut butter for a more satisfying snack.

Celery & Dip: Celery has the same satisfying crunch as chips without all the salt. For a delish low-fat dip, mix onion, herbs, and low-fat cottage cheese — it’s healthier than Ranch dressing! Stick a thermometer in your cooler to make sure the temperature stays under 40 degrees so the dip doesn’t go bad.

Dry Roasted Nuts: Nuts won’t spoil in the sun, which is a total plus when figuring out what snacks to bring to the beach. The fibre and potassium actually helps get rid of any stomach discomfort so you can feel lean in your swimsuit.

Fresh Fruit: Fruits high in potassium like melons, bananas, and papayas are sweet, but won’t cause bloating like candy can. Chill them in a cooler with ice for a refreshing taste!

Chicken Sandwich: There’s nothing better than a summer cookout on the beach, but burgers made with processed meat will make you feel not-so great later. Instead, opt for a lean chicken sandwich with veggies on a whole wheat bun!

Banana Sandwich: The potassium in bananas actually fights bloat, so nosh on a banana sandwich if you aren’t feeling your most confident in your bikini. Foods containing fibre like whole wheat bread will help you feel full, while keeping your tummy lean.

Water With Lime: It’s important to stay hydrated during the summer, but carbonated drinks like soda will leave you feeling gross. Add some fresh fruit to your water for a naturally sweet, refreshing way to quench your thirst.
