For some people trying to get to sleep can be the most stressful part of their day, and it definitely shouldn’t be. Here are some simple tips to help you get to sleep quick and feel rejuvenated! 

Make your bedroom a place where you are not distracted

If your room doubles as a work place, game arcade or music studio these things can trick your brain into thinking this room is not a place for sleep. Making your bedroom strictly a place for relaxation and sleep will bring about a sense of calm and reduce confusion which you can sometimes feel before bed.

Limit electronic media before bed

Limiting screen time (computers, TV, video games) before bed is a great method to help you get to sleep. Using these electronic devices before bed will keep your brain and mind awake. Try to avoid all electronic media 2 hours before you go to bed. This will ensure your brain can switch off and shut down.

Keep your bedroom clean

Keeping your bedroom clean, tidy and organised can bring about a sense of relief so when you go to bed you don’t have to worry about an untidy room and can sleep peacefully.

Listen to soothing music

Sometimes having something simple and soothing to listen to can distract our brain from all the thoughts that gather at the end of the day. There are heaps of apps available where you can play soothing music to assist your sleep.
