6 Tips for Healthy Living

  1. Don’t skip breakfast

We have all been told time and time again that breakfast is the most important meal of the day, and yes there is substantial evidence that proves to that constantly skipping breakfast can be negative to our health.  Breakfast is the meal that “breaks the fast” in which your body goes through when you sleep each night.  Support your body by eating a nutrient rich breakfast that will provide all the essential vitamins, minerals and nutrients so your body can work at its best.

  1. Be active every day in as many ways as you can

This doesn’t mean you have to do a gruelling gym workout every day, its as simple as walking 30 minutes a day. Walking creates a positive chain reaction as it promotes the release of endorphins (happy hormones), releases adrenaline (mood lifting hormone), produces hormones that improve sleep and releases/improves muscle tension.  Walking is simple, free, practical and easy so start walking 30 minutes every day to enjoy the benefits.

  1. Drink 2L + of water every day

The benefits of water consumption have been universally explored and praised, and if its not part of your routine we strongly encourage you drink 2 litres of water every day.  Water consumption promotes all over body health, it is essential for healthy hair, skin and nails, muscle contractions, body fluid balance maintenance and maintaining normal bowel function.

  1. Relax
Its as simple as taking a small amount of time from your day, taking a moment to relax so you can experience the benefits. Techniques such as mindful meditation can help you relax in 1 minute, and taking 5 minutes here and there will improve health, wellness and even productivity.  Do not let stress get the better of you, take a moment to reflect on your situation and relax.
  2. Connect with Family and Friends
These important relationships help encourage a “healthy mind”, this is essential to help us find our way through life. Talking to other and seeking help is essential in reducing risk of depression, anxiety and distress.  Be positive in tough times and avoid risk factors that can impact the way we think and see the world (is physical inactivity, lack of sleep, violent environments, poor food and nutrition, being excluded).
  3. Eat a wide variety of fresh food daily

Fresh fruits and vegetables are the most natural and nutritious fuels we can put into our body!  If you want your body to work at its best, it will need the best possible diet to do so.  Avoiding any refined products (sugar, salt, refined flour) and consuming food in its most natural form.  Consuming a wide variety of fresh food and produce will ensure there are no nutrition gaps in your diet and your body can work at its best.
