Cut the salt and naturally flavour your food!

In todays society if a meal lakes flavour we add salt, if we want to preserve something we add salts and sometimes we even add salt to a meal before we even taste it!!

We all know the negative impact a high salt diet can have on our cardiovascular system, which is why its best to stick to the natural flavour enhancers when wanting to garnish our foods!

Here are our salt-savvy tips

  1. Just a squeeze
Adding a squeeze of fresh lemon or lime to your meals can get your taste buds tingling! Add the juice fresh to your pastas, risottos or any seafood to give it a natural flavour kick!
  2. Herbs herbs herbs
Adding dried or fresh herbs to your food is a natural healthy way to substantially increase the flavour, you can add fresh or dried chilli, oregano, cumin, basil, rosemary, thyme, garlic, onion, anything really the possibilities are endless
  3. Roasting

Roasting your veg and meat is an easy and natural way to bring out the flavours!  Roasting brings out the flavours of the natural sugar, which transports a boost of natural flavour.

Try incorporating these tips next time you cook and you will be surprised how much salt [or little] you will actually need.
